Whole-Home Repiping
If your home still has polybutylene, galvanized, or old copper pipes, patching one leak after another only buys time. A whole-home re-pipe brings your water lines up to today’s standards — for good. Call 1-844-6RAPIDS.
Why homes need repiping
- Polybutylene pipe — a gray (sometimes blue or black) plastic pipe used in many homes built from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. It’s known to break down over time and fail without warning.
- Galvanized steel pipe — common in older homes. It rusts from the inside out, choking water flow and eventually leaking.
- Old copper pipe — copper lasts a long time, but with age it can corrode from the inside and develop pinhole leaks. Once one pinhole leak shows up, more usually follow.
- Pipes that keep failing — when leaks keep popping up in different spots, the whole system is usually wearing out.
Signs it may be time to repipe
- Repeated leaks in different parts of the house
- Pinhole leaks or green-blue stains on copper pipes
- Low water pressure throughout the home
- Rusty, brown, or discolored water
- You know (or suspect) your home has polybutylene pipe
- Your home inspector or insurance company flagged your plumbing
How a re-pipe works
-
Inspect & quote
We look at your current pipes, explain what we found, and give you a clear price before any work starts.
-
Plan the route
We plan new lines to keep wall and ceiling openings as small and few as possible.
-
Install new lines
Old supply lines are replaced with new, modern water lines to every fixture in the home.
-
Test & inspect
The new system is pressure-tested. When a permit is required, we pull it and see the work through inspection.
Repiping questions
How do I know if I have polybutylene pipe?
Look at the exposed pipes near your water heater, under sinks, or where the water line enters the house. Polybutylene is usually flexible gray plastic and is often stamped “PB2110.” Not sure? Call us and we’ll take a look.
Can I stay in my home during a re-pipe?
In most cases, yes. We’ll walk you through the schedule and let you know ahead of time when the water will be off.
Is financing available?
Yes. A re-pipe is a big project, and financing can help you get it done now and manage the cost over time.
What areas do you serve?
We cover the corridor from South Raleigh to Fayetteville, plus Roanoke Rapids, Rocky Mount, and Wilson. See all of our service areas.
